Three little pigs hear
the wolf knocking at the door and win “The Sixpack,” Lürzer’s Archive
International Student of the Year Award trophy. On August 20th exactly
7,400 readers, all members of the
worldwide creative community, have cast their vote: 24-year old
Daniel Jacob
of the Miami Ad School/ESPM, São Paulo, is the winner of our annual
International Student of the Year Award. The winning ad, for Walita brand
mixers, demonstrates the product's “super-resistant jar” by covering the
three little pigs belljar-like, protecting them from a hungry and visibly
frustrated wolf.
The Students Contest section published in issues Vol. 4-2005 to Vol.
3-2006 of Lürzer’s Archive, the world’s top magazine for outstanding ad
campaigns, featured a total of 37 ads created by students from around the
globe. These campaigns were selected from over 1,000 ads submitted by a
total of 98 schools and universities, up on last year’s figure by more than
600. During the past two months, our readers were invited to select the
“Lürzer’s Archive International Student of the Year 2006” online at
www.luerzersarchive.com
The winner will travel to YoungGuns, the advertising festival for young
creatives in Australia, where 800 guests will watch him being handed an
individually produced sixpack of “Student of the Year Beer” together with
the Winner certificate. All nominees, i.e. all those whose work was featured
in the past six volumes of our magazine, will receive a Lürzer’s Archive
certificate.
In terms of the number of jurors, “Lürzer’s Archive International Student
of the Year Award” is the world’s biggest student competition of its kind.
Menno Kluin, our “International Student of the Year 2005,” has since started
his career at Saatchi & Saatchi, New York and won a Bronze Lion at this
year’s Cannes festival for the Tide to Go Stain Removal Pen.
